How to activate the Delivery Note feature?
The Delivery Note feature is activated using steps mentioned below.
Go to Gateway of Tally > F11: Features (F2:Inventory Features) > set the parameter Use Tracking Numbers (Delivery/Receipt Notes) to Yes.
Tally uses the Tracking Numbers to link Delivery Notes and Invoices/Bills. This feature is available for purchases as well as sales transactions.
In case Use Tracking Numbers (Delivery/Receipt Notes) in F11:Features is not enabled, the inventory vouchers, Goods inwards/Receipt Note and the Goods Outwards/ Delivery Note features will not be activated. You will not be able pass the entries for these transactions. In these instances it is assumed that goods are received with the Purchase Invoices/Bills and goods are delivered with Sales Invoices/Bills.
In case Use Tracking Numbers (Delivery/Receipt Notes) in F11: Features is enabled, Tally allows you to enter the inventory documents of Receipt / Delivery Notes with details of tracking numbers. By this feature you can generate the Sales/Purchase Bills Pending reports. However, if the entries are made without defining the tracking numbers (by selectingNot Applicable for tracking numbers), the Sales/Purchase Bills Pending reports are not generated, as the transaction is assumed to be complete and there is no bill pending against the Receipt/Delivery Notes.
